DIY Succulent Night: Our next resident event is blooming! Join us on February 18th from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM in the Clubroom to create your own custom succulent planter. All supplies are provided—just bring yourself and your creativity. Check out the attached flyer for full details!

"My family have lived here off and on over the years and always end up coming back. It is home. The staff have always treated me and my family like we were part of their home. Always smiling, always saying hello, always making my kid laugh. It feels safe and feels like a place where the kiddo can run about and we don't have to feel overly stressed about their safety, the community here is very welcoming. From the last time we were here to our most recent return the units have been updated, the common areas have been refreshed, new carpet has been put in, the grounds have amplified as far as "park-like" vibes. We are constantly working to keep Vilara looking its best and feeling like home. Here is the latest on what’s happening around the community:
5th Floor Hallway Refresh
The finishing touches are almost here! The final hallway carpet installation on the 5th floor is scheduled from February 9th through February 13th.
We appreciate your patience as we complete this upgrade. Residents on the 5th floor should monitor their inboxes—we will send a detailed email later this week with specific instructions on foot traffic and timing.
Stock the Vending Machine! 🍿
In case you missed the recent announcement, we are thrilled to share that a brand-new vending machine will be installed in late February/early March!
But before we plug it in, we want to make sure it’s stocked with your favorites. We are running a community survey to see which snacks and drinks you’re craving. Don’t miss your chance to vote for your go-to treats!

24th Annual Laguna Beach Music Festival
Experience the magic of world-class music just a scenic drive away from Vilara. This February, the Laguna Beach Music Festival returns, led by the virtuosic violinist and Artistic Director Stefan Jackiw. The festival is a multi-day celebration of classical and contemporary music, featuring intimate performances that bring the audience closer to the artists than ever before.
Whether you’re a lifelong fan of the strings or just looking for an upscale night out, the 2026 lineup is spectacular. Highlights include "Masterful Duos" on opening night and the grand finale, "American Voices," which pays tribute to great American composers like Aaron Copland. It’s a quintessential Orange County cultural experience that perfectly captures the creative spirit of our coastal neighbor.

Ticket Tip: Individual concert tickets are available, but a Festival Pass is the best way to catch all three headline performances at the Playhouse.

This year’s North Coast Living annual food drive highlights what’s possible when our residents and teams come together with a shared purpose. What begins as a simple act of giving at our properties becomes real nourishment and relief for families in need. It remains one of the most meaningful and impactful initiatives we take part in each year.

Meet Our February Star: Callie! 🐾
This month, we are wagging our tails for Callie, a 2-year-old Labrador Retriever who brings a whole lot of heart (and a little bit of chaos) to Vilara.
Whether she’s on a mission to collect every stick in the neighborhood or "borrowing" a stray sock from the laundry pile, Callie stays busy. When she isn't busy being a professional treat-taster, she’s a world-class cuddler who never meets a stranger. If you see her around the community, say hello—she’s on a mission to make as many friends as possible!
